Namaste friends. So, are you an Instagrammer?
Recently I opened my account on Instagram and I am really enjoying it. For reasons unknown it did not allow me to use crochetkari so my account is on my name sangeethavprabhu.
My photos are tagged as #crochetkari.
I am not highly active on Instagram (or any other social platform for that matter) but I like the glimpses it gives into the lives of our favourite bloggers/crocheters.
Like behind-the-scenes pics of design processes, colour selection, or WIP progress. Also latest events, workshops, sales etc. Even recipes, family pics and super cute baby pics.
As the name suggests it is instant, you just click pics with your phone and upload. I have not explored the features yet. It is fast and fun and writing a description is totally up to you which works fine for me. :)
To like(heart), follow, and comment you can access your account via your computer too.
If you are on Instagram, please let me know your username, I would love to follow you.
The International Crochet Month gave me an excuse to spend on a lot of supplies and books, so watch out for reviews and Ta-dahs! :) I also added Valentine's Day and International Women's Day to my list of excuses...LOL!
Have you entered the pattern giveaway in my previous post. Go on, it is quick and open only till 15th March '17, so hurry.
How are you celebrating crochet month? I would love to know.
ya Sangeetha I agree ☝️
ReplyDeleteAll user platforms r very informative
That is so true, Ashlesha. And we met because of Facebook. Talk about serving a purpose! :)
DeleteI get so many more crochet ideas from Instagram. New follower....hookingrandma
ReplyDeleteSurely following you, Charlotte. I love seeing your latest yardsale haul :)
DeleteI just became your follower on Facebook, twitter and Instagram! My facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/gratefulprayer/ and I'd be happy if you would like the page. I am ldh4 on twitter, lorrainediane on Instagram.
ReplyDeleteHi Lorraine, I'm already your fan on Facebook and Instagram! And now on Twitter too :)
DeleteI know Instagram is a feast for the eye but I am always scared of adding social networking sites to my list. Need more time on hand. Enjoy your new Instagram, I will join when I am there in future:)
ReplyDeleteYes Preeti, I was sceptical too about adding one more time-pass item to my list. But ever since I decided to post only when it suits me and not to pursue likes and comments, I'm relaxed about it ;) And like Pinterest it is a treasure trove of ideas plus you can go to a particular user's page to check all that they have posted. I'm finding it easier than Facebook. But of course each platform has its own features. Have a lovely day.
DeleteHi there. I signed up for instagram ages ago but have never really used it. I think I have 2 photos on there. I noticed that more of my friends seem to be using it instead of Facebook so maybe I should give it a try. I just don't really 'get'' it yet! X
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie, Instagram is instant and that may be the reason why it is so popular. I joined Twitter but soon gave up because as you say I too just didn't get it!
DeleteI'm following you now on Instagram, I don't really go on there much I tend to forget about it, not enough hours in the day haha have a great weekend. :) x
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Linda. With so many social platforms there are not enough hours in the day. And I think my blog is suffering the most :) I marvel at people who seem to be everywhere and pretty good at it!
DeleteI looked up crochetkari on IG and though there's not one with that specific name, there are other similar ones using crochet and kari in the name, so maybe that's why you couldn't use it. I do love IG and am there more than blogging because of the ease factor. But I also still love blogging and the connections I've made here. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy, someone used the #crochetkari tag for a purse she made, I think that's the reason I couldn't get it. Loved your pics on IG. Of late my blogging has been sloppy and I think I have lost many readers :)
